ADHD
PEER SUPPORT GROUP

Frequently Asked Questions
What if I don't have ADHD?
We operate a confidential, safe space for our peers. If you are coming to give moral support to a friend with ADHD who is also attending, no problem, although this group is primarily for those with ADHD. For anyone else, this is not the group for you.
How often do people come?
For the in-person group, some people come just once to get the information they need and that's totally ok. Many come monthly or ad hoc, but no one comes to all the sessions each month - that is likely to be a bit overstimulating/overwhelming!
What exactly happens during a session?
For those that like detailed expectation management, we've written up a typical session here.
Accessibility
There is step-free access throughout the venue, and a disabled-friendly toilet.
Crisis?
We are not a crisis service, and would recommend you contact your your GP, local Community Mental Health Team or the NHS on 111 in the first instance. We also list some useful support lines on our Local Resources page.
Organisational Matters
We are run by you, the attendees/members, and have no external funding.
There is a volunteering team came through the same door as everyone else to their first meeting. The team currently consists of: Craig A, Jen B, Lesley M, Mark C, Paul G and Rebecca C.
The team acts as hosts, does some admin and, very occasionally, acts as moderators for our WhatsApp group. Anyone is very welcome to volunteer and join this group after three months. Just ask at the end of an in-person meeting for more details.
If you’ve got a suggestion for how the group can be improved please attend three in-person meetings first, or ask at the end of your next in-person meeting - this is generally the easiest way for us, as a team, to answer your questions. Regularly asked requests can be found here, with explanations. Alternatively, anonymous suggestions and feedback can be submitted here.
Any other questions?
Please be aware we’re all volunteers, not medical professionals, and any advice is best crowd-sourced during the session itself.
